Subject/Recommendation:
(First Reading) An Ordinance of the City of Kyle, Texas authorizing and directing the installation and erection of speed control signs for the zoning of traffic and rate of speed on Kohlers Crossing in the city limits of the City of Kyle; affirming the definition of speeding and fixing a penalty therefor; repealing any ordinance or resolution in conflict; providing a severability clause; and providing an effective date. ~ Leon Barba, P.E., City Engineer

Other Information:

The section of Kohlers Crossing from FM 2770 to the UPRR crossing is currently set at 45 miles/hour.  The section from the UPRR crossing east towards the IH 35 frontage road is currently set at 40 miles/hour. 

 

Speed studies taken in the area east of the UPRR crossing have confirmed the need to increase the speed limit on this section of Kohlers Crossing from 40 miles/hour to 45 miles/hour in both the east and west direction.  This will provide a consistent speed limit all the way from FM 2770 to the IH 35 frontage road.
