Approve Amendment No. 1 to Task Order No. 2 to LJA ENGINEERING, INC., Austin, Texas, in an amount of $2,000.00, increasing the total contract amount to not exceed $28,000.00 for additional archival research for the Bunton Creek Interceptor Phase 3.1/3.2 wastewater line from the Southlake Lift Station to the City Wastewater Treatment Plant. ~ Leon Barba, P.E., City Engineer |

During a preliminary archaeological assessment on the properties where the Bunton Creek wastewater line is proposed the environmental consultant found a historic site on one of the parcels. They found two prehistoric lithic tools (broken dart point and scraper tool). Those prehistoric tools were isolated and, because no other flakes or fire cracked rocks were discovered near them, they do not constitute an archeological site. The historic site, however, will need to have archival work done to understand who lived there and when. This is required by the Texas Historical Commission when determining the age and function of historic sites. The site consists of a collapsed building and household debris.
The results of the additional archival research will be incorporated in the Cultural Resouces Phase 1 Intensive Survey.
