CITY OF KYLE, TEXAS

Proposed Drainage Improvements on FM 2770 just north of Hellman

Meeting Date: 1/17/2017
Date time:
7:00 PM

Subject/Recommendation:

Consider and possible action to approve up to $100,000.00 for proposed drainage improvements to the existing drainage culvert on FM 2770 just north of Hellman. ~ Scott Sellers, City Manager

Other Information:

There is an existing two barrel drainage culvert located at FM 2770 just north of Hellman which is part of the Plum Creek Development.  The current structure is estimated to have a 10 year design frequency.  The desire is to increase the capacity of the culvert to at least a  25 year design frequency.  FM 2770 is a Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) maintained roadway and the Plum Creek Development is being affected by the undersized culvert.

Based on an estimate prepared by TxDOT, the total estimated cost for design and construction is approximately $450,000.  The intent of this request is to partner with TxDOT and the Plum Creek Development in order to provide adequate funding for upgrading the existing culvert.

The City would only provide up to a maximum of $100,000.00 and the remainder of the cost to design and construct the proposed drainage improvements would be borne by TxDOT and the Plum Creek Development.
