On November 15, 2016, the City Council approved an agreement in the amount of $270,000.00 with the Union Pacific Railroad Company for preliminary engineering services to relocate the rail siding operated by the railroad in Kyle, Texas.
As part of this contract award approval on November 15, 2016, the City Council also directed staff to prepare a budget amendment in the $270,000.00 for City Council's consideration and approval in order to provide funding for the preliminary engineering services agreement with Union Pacific Railroad Company.
The agreement with Union Pacific Railroad Company for preliminary engineering services will provide the following:
- Topography survey
- 30% track and civil design
- Geotech investigation
- Hydrology and hydraulics (H&H) to determine structure type
- Level A and B utility research to determine what utilities will be in conflict
- Title research and initial contacts with property owners
- Wetland and stream delineation
