As approved in the 2016-17 Budget, this was anticipated as a replacement vehicle in the Parks Maintenance division of the Kyle Parks and Recreation Department. The cargo van would be better suited vehicle for the anticipated use. Staff currently use a pickup truck with unsecured cargo going from site to site. This cargo van would allow more secured cargo and increase efficiency. An RFP (RFP-2016-08-PARD ‘Cargo Van’) was posted on line and in the local paper. Four proposals were received and staff has verified that all standard equipment and a few options are included that meet the RFP. The price includes all applicable fees and delivery charges. The approved budget is $21,000, quote is $1,600 below budget. Staff recommends approval. |
