Maintenance is required at the 250,000 gallon ground storage tank located on Yarrington Rd. Maintenance includes removal of sedimentation from the bottom of the tank to evaluate the floor plates; safety improvements in order to be in compliance with OSHA requirements; modification of the roof ventilation structure due to the heavy amount of corrosion and delamination; and finally, sandblasting and recoating of the interior to extend the life of the structure. The exterior will also be cleaned and repainted.
The 500,000 gallon ground storage tank located on FM 1626 also requires the same type of maintenance. However, the exterior coating will be repainted white in order to minimize water quality issues.
The plans and specifications for the Downtown Elevated Tank were completed on Task Order No. 5.
The scope of work included in Task Order No. 6 will be to obtain bid proposals on those previously prepared documents. The proposed work work will be included as an add alternate. This allows flexibility in determining the priority and affordability of the work to be done on the Downtown Elevated Tank.
